Pancake Chase

A new event is on the calendar this year, the Pancake Chase. I previewed the course today with the race director and the course will start and finish at the finish line of the world famous International Pancake Race in Liberal, KS. The event will take place on Saturday, February 21st. There will be a 5-K race at 8:00 a.m. followed by a one-mile prediction run/walk at 9:00 a.m. Registration will begin around 7:00 a.m. or 7:30 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus at 4th & Kansas Avenue (SE corner). The start finish is located on Lincoln between 3rd & 4th Streets. $20 entry fee ($15 for SWFTR members) will include a long-sleeve Henley-style t-shirt. Later that morning. the Knights of Columbus building will host the pancake flipping and eating contests and the annual recipe/cooking contest. For events other than the Saturday morning runs, see the Pancake Day website at www.pancakeday.net and come to Liberal and enjoy the celebration.

  1. I had a great time running the Pancake Chase 5K...although it was freezing!! :) I love seeing some of the same faces at these local races and catching up with friends (or atleast trying to keep up with them!)
